17th Edition Wiring Regulations (3 day UPDATE) ( City & Guilds 2382-20)

To meet the needs of candidates who work in the Building Services Engineering sector such as Electricians, and who need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. To update candidates with additions and changes to BS 7671 since the last edition

1. Practical Boatbuilding (Full Time)

Provided by International Boatbuilding Training College

All students begin in the Joinery workshop where they will learn fundamental woodworking skills. After approximately 12 weeks students move on to the boat shed where they will work in a real boatyard environment. Students will learn to interpret the designers' drawings, loft the boat and make moulds, construct and set up a backbone, steam timber and make frames, plank up in carvel and clinker, lay decks, make spars and fit out the hull. In short a student at the end of the course should be able to build a boat. Successful Completions of this course results in a City & Guilds 2451 Boatbuilding Maintenance and Support, Level 3. Qualification

2. Practical Yacht and Small Craft Surveying Course

Provided by International Boatbuilding Training College

The course will consist of four weeks (arranged as two separate fortnights) of intensive practical training plus one optional specialist week covering wood construction. The practical weeks are not classroom based, the training centres around a variety of real boats under actual survey conditions

3. Small Boatbuilding Course (Leading to an IBTC certificate)

Provided by International Boatbuilding Training College

This is a short, intensive 12 week course leading to an IBTC Certificate and is for those looking to develop a hobby or learn about a specific area of boatbuilding. After this course you should be able to build your own small boat. All students begin with four weeks of practical woodworking in order to build up the necessary hand skills. After that, you will learn how to set up and build a small dinghy, through constructing the backbone, setting up the moulds and planking a clinker dinghy, students also learn the techniques and skills needed to setup and build larger boats of both clinker and carvel construction.

6 month - Build Your Own Boat course

Provided by International Boatbuilding Training College

Consists of basic joinery course plus completion of a range of modules relevant to your project chosen from a list which includes lofting, GRP, stitch and glue technique, backbone construction, carvel or clinker planking, painting and varnishing, decking, spars and rigging. The exact make up of the course will be discussed before you begin.
