PBD is a training provider specialising in early years, playwork and supporting teaching and learning in schools We also offer a range of other courses and qualifications in customer services, business and administration, management and adult teaching, including PTLLS.
We operate throughout England and we have a direct apprenticeships contract with the Skills Funding Agency which allows us to deliver most training completely free of charge. We also offer a free recruitment service to apprentices and employers.
Our pioneering use of e-learning and web based evidence portfolios means that learners achieve faster, with minimal disruption to their job – no paper files to maintain, or classes to attend.

e-portfolio training in playwork PBD specialises in playwork training. We understand the essential differences between playwork and early years. PBD's specialist playwork assessors are experienced practitioners in the field. As a company, they subscribe to the Playwork Principles and are accredited under the SkillsActive Code of Practice. PBD offer playwork qualifications at level 2 or 3. For those with an existing level 3 qualification in early years, we offer a fast track ‘transitional award’ as a bridge into playwork. PBD assessors give learners all the support they need - both in the workplace and at home. All learners have free access to eQual Learning, their own unique suite of interactive, web based courses. Learners can access these courses via the internet, work through them at their own pace with support from their assessor, and complete assignments online |

e-portfolio training in supporting teaching and learning PBD specialises in training for those who support teaching and learning in schools. These City & Guilds qualifications are intended for learning support staff in schools and school-related settings, or those who want to work in that field. They cover the role of teaching assistants but have been broadened in scope to include new roles and responsibilities such as cover supervision, pastoral, bilingual and subject support and special educational needs. They also help to develop knowledge in areas such as safeguarding, communication and understanding the school context. Anyone working as a teacher, trainer or assessor in the FE sector or in any publicly funded training programme must by law obtain a level 3 PTLLS certificate (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) within one year of appointment. PTLLS is also the first step to obtaining a professional licence to teach. PBD is accredited by City & Guilds to deliver PTLLS. |

Qualifications in supporting teaching and learning PBD offer all the elements of a City and Guilds apprenticeship in supporting teaching and learning in schools: either intermediate (level 2) or advanced (level 3). Each framework involves a combined qualification including both competence and underpinning knowledge. Apprenticeship candidates also have to complete a workbook on employment rights, as well as key skills in application of number, communication and ICT. An apprentice must be at least 16 years old but there is no upper age limit. PBD have a direct contract with the Skills Funding Agency and can deliver most training completely free of charge |
