PCDL what does it mean?

My understanding of informal adult learning is something you do for fun rather than to get a qualification. Is this right?

RE: PCDL what does it mean?

PCDL has been defined as 'learning for personal development, cultural enrichment, intellectual or creative stimulation, and enjoyment. it is also learning developed with local residents and others to build skills, knowledge and understanding for social and community action. There is no requirement that learners must necessarily progress to other learning actvities or achieve accreditation.

So it could be for fun, personal development, strenthening communities or families ie for fun - painting class, personal development - CV writing, Strengthening communities and families - family learning in local libaries.

I am currently mapping PCDL acivity in Essex, Southend and Thurrock and am finding the activity that can be classed under PCDL can be extensive, so is a huge challenge to capture the information in a informative and useful way.

I would like to find art courses in or around Woodbridge. Does anybody know of any?
