Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) Provided by University Campus Suffolk The Award is designed to contribute towards the skills, knowledge and understanding for the Lifelong Learning Sector (LLUK) introductory standards. The qualification provides a firm practical foundation for those new to teaching and training or those wishing to teach or train. It is designed as a qualification which will equip a wide range of teachers/trainers/tutors and facilitators (e.g., support staff and technicians) to deliver learning. This Award has been designed to fully meet new statutory requirements for those teaching in the Learning and Skills Sector. From September 2007, the PTLLS Award will be a mandatory minimum qualification for all those teaching in the Learning and Skills Sector. Upon successful completion of this Award students will be conferred with a Threshold status to teach |

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Sector (PTLLS) Provided by West Suffolk College This qualification satisfies the government requirement for teachers, tutors and trainers to hold an award for preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector. It can be undertaken by those who need an initial award for their role as a teacher or trainer in the lifelong learning sector or by those who want to teach in an FE College, tutor in an Adult and Community Learning Centre or be a trainer for a Learning Provider. <br><br>The achievement of the Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector will confirm that they have shown that they have a good understanding of the essential aspects of the teacher/trainer role, can organise and manage effective learning and have developed professionally through on-going reflection and evaluation. |

Provided by People and Business Development Ltd Anyone working as a teacher, trainer or assessor in the FE sector or in any publicly funded training programme must by law obtain a level 3 PTLLS certificate (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) within one year of appointment. PTLLS is also the first step to obtaining a professional licence to teach. PBD is accredited by City & Guilds to deliver PTLLS. |
