Fit testing is for employers who provide respirators (face masks) to their employees to protect them from exposure to airborne contaminants such as dusts, fumes and vapours in the workplace. The approved code of practice and guidance to the COSHH Regulations 2002 require fit testing to be carried out on respiratory protective equipment (RPE) with tight fitting face pieces.
