Cannabis Induced Caetextia Theory Workshop with Ezra Hewing BA(hons) HG Dip GHGI Provided by Ipswich Human Givens Counselling, Psychotherapy and Training and Family links Facilitator In response to the lack of clear models which explained the statistical evidence of a link between cannabis use and mental health problems, and matched the reported experiences of cannabis users, Ezra started thinking and working on potential explanations in early 2006. The result is Cannabis-induced Caetextia Theory, which he hopes will give health professionals a better model to work from when educating people about cannabis use or supporting those whose mental health problems are further complicated by their cannabis use. |

Given that most workers under 30 will continue to work for many more years, their social habits will continue to impact on the working environment. Streamlining assessment is a crucial part of this process. The DUST is a screening tool designed to assess drug use in young people across Suffolk. This half-day course will introduce the DUST to professionals working with young people across Suffolk. Participants will learn how and when to complete a DUST form, and what the next steps should be once the form is completed. |

Helping Parents who Misuse Substances Meet Their Children's Needs Provided by The Drug and Alcohol Action Team Working with parents who misuse substances presents many professionals with multiple concerns. Professionals can often see the potential for better parenting, but are at a loss as to how to translate that potential into behaviour. This training is designed to provide professionals with some practical tools to encourage parents to build on that potential and to ultimately make life better for the children. |

The DUST will be introduced in the context of recognising the signs and symptoms of drug use in young people, and will include information of next steps in the referral process. |
