Access Animal Care

EQUINE STUDIES COURSE

The course is designed to give you an introduction and overview to a large number of aspects about the care and skills needed to both care and look after a horse. The course also covers the basics of riding, grooming and the handling of horses, as well as useful information on buying a horse, and information on stabling and looking after your horse.

NPTC Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care

The Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care is a fulltime vocational course studied over one year. The course is suited to students who wish to pursue a career in the animal care industry and offers an opportunity to work with a range of animals including dogs, rodents, reptiles and farm livestock. Students will develop vocational skills in animal handling, health care, feeding and animal biology.

NPTC Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management

The course offers a blend of theory, task-based learning, tutorials and practical workshops at College combined with field visits and work experience in the animal care industry. Those on the Level 3 Diploma will be required to complete 300 hours at a work placement.

NPTC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Managment

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management is a full-time vocational course studied over two years. The course is suited to students who wish to pursue a career in the animal care industry or progress to degree level and offers an opportunity to work with a range of animals including dogs, rodents, reptiles and farm livestock. Students will develop vocational skills in animal handling and husbandry, health and dietary management, breeding and animal biology and animal science research.
