- As well as following a substantial syllabus of infant/child First Aid skills, you will also be taught some essential adult care skills where they differ to those appropriate to child and infant care, giving you a good all round knowledge.
Course contents includes:- Introduction
- Scene assessment
- Barrier use
- 1 person CPR
- Choking management
- Shock management
- Spinal injury management
- Secondary assesment
- Asthma
- Allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
- Poisoning
- Diabetes
- Febrile convulsions
- Sickle cell anaemia
- Head injury
- Fractures and dislocations
- Management of burns and scalds
- Hypo/hyper thermia
- First aid boxes and accident reporting
The 12 Hour Paediatric Childcare First Aid course will include instructor led theory sessions, together with video examples and hands on practical sessions using child/infant mannequins.
You will be able to learn these skills in a relaxed, low stress environment, designed to promote confidence and upon successful completion of the course a certificate will be issued.
This 12 hour Childcare First Aid Course is recognised by all the above bodies, and is valid for three years.
