A. Introduction to hygiene
B. Hygiene hazards
C. Personal hygiene
D. Cleaning

The course covers:
Terminology used in good hygiene practice
Relationship of hazard and risk in prioritizing action
Relevant legislation relating to hygiene practice
Concepts of hygiene hazards and infection control
Importance of good personal hygiene
Need for high standards of cleanliness to help prevent infection

The candidates are assessed by an examination paper consisting of 15 multiple choice questions to be completed in 30 minutes under examination conditions. Candidates must participate in at least 80% of the course to be eligible to take the examination.

Candidates who achieve 10 or more correct answers will pass the examination and receive a certificate.
Cost: Costs: £35 plus VAT @ 17.5% (£6.12) = £41.12.
Exam Fee: £12.22.
Text Book: £3.60.
