This course is suitable for anyone who is likely to undertake Utility tree work i.e. pruning and felling in proximity to Electricity Lines so that they can avoid danger by understanding the safety.

Following completion of this course we can offer an assessment through the National Proficiency Test Council in Unit UA 2.1.

Learning outcomes/objectives
  • Identify common species of trees by leaf or twig, broadleaved and coniferous.
  • Identify growth characteristics, fast and slow growing trees and their significance to overhead power lines.
  • Identify and comment on potential hazards and defects, and their significance to overhead power lines.
