- The IOSH Managing Safely Course has been developed by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health to address management training needs in the light of continuous development in health and safety legislation.
About the Course
- Target
- This is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It is designed to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams.
- Entry requirements
- No previous health and safety knowledge is required.
- Outcome
- Delegates will have a detailed insight into managing health and safety and an understanding of key regulations and how to ensure compliance.
- Qualifications
- Successful completion leads to the award of the nationally recognised IOSH certificate.
- Content
- The course covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment.
It is divided into eight modules:
1. Intoducing Managing Safely
2. Assessing Risks
3. Controlling Risks
4. Understanding your Responsibilities
5. Identifying Hazards
6. Investigating Accidents & Incidents
7. Measuring Performance
8. Protecting our Environment
The delegates are assessed at the end of the course by a multiple choice written assessment and a project completed at their workplace. - Cost
- IOSH Managing Safely is £570, plus £85 examination and registration fees.
