Summary
This course gives students the opportunity to achieve the foundation and intermediate levels of an industry recognised accounting qualification alongside both vocational or academic studies.

About the Course

Target
The course adequately prepares students for immediate entry into careers such as administration, insurance and especially accountancy.
Entry requirements
Normally a minimum of four GCSEs at grades C or above (including English and Maths) or a First Diploma with a merit profile (or equivalent) plus a Key Skills level 2 qualification.
Outcome
Students are able to achieve the equivalent to two 'A' levels (National Certificate) alongside an accounting qualification which will enable progression into Higher Education (e.g. Accountancy degree) or Technician level of ATT.
Content
Subjects covered include: Accountancy: Recording income and receipts, making and recording payments, Preparing ledger balances and initial trial balances and supplying information for Management control.
Business: Retailing, Marketing, Human Resources and Economics.
A Levels: you can choose from the AS/A2 levels on pages 22 to 29 in the Sixteen Plus Prospectus.
