By the end of the course delegates will have been provided with the skills required to enable them to : Aquire a good understanding of when the new and current regulations apply Understand the role of the designer in depth Formulate a personal action plan
Content
Overview of the CDM Regulations Discussion of the CDM philosophy- why the regulations are needed and what they intend to achieve. Overview of the duties of the various roles, and the interfaces between the duty holders Regulation 13 in detail - discussion of the duties on designers, including; 'Avoid, control at source, collective measures'- what do these terms mean? 'Design risk assessment'- is it necessary? what forms could it take? Providing information to the planning supervisor Working with the planning supervisor What sort of design solutions have arisen form Reg 13? Guidance for designers The future: what will the 'new' construction regulations contain?
