About the Course

Target
The course is aimed at students aged 19 or over, who have few or no formal academic qualifications, but will approach their studies with enthusiasm, determination and discipline.
Entry requirements
All applicants will be invited to interview to enable them to demonstrate their commitment to Access and a capability to achieve the aims of the course.
Outcome
The Access Certificate validated by CAVA fulfils the basic entry requirements for Higher Education enabling students to apply for a wide range of courses, although individual institutions may have additional entry requirements.

Content
All students study History, Literature, Social Science and the Visual Arts. There are shorter courses in Mathematics and IT and the course has four modules:- * Key concepts and methods in the humanities and social sciences * Early industrial society * New views of the world * Britain in the 21st century
