instruction in basic chainsaw techniques including maintenance, crosscutting and felling trees up to 380mm diameter. this course is in preparation for NPTC assessment. Workshop Safety and awareness Guida bar, saw chain and power maintenance re-assembly Helath and Safety features Lubrication and fuelling Personal protective equipment Starting and pre-cutting checks Site safety awareness and PPE Cross-cutting and stacking timber Environmental and legal requirements Felling, takedown and snedding trees up to 380mm in diameter Conversion and Crosscutting Use of felling and timber handling aid tools. the provision and Use of Work Equipment Regualtions 1998 (PUWER) requires employers to provide adequate training to ensure that chainsaws and related equipment are opeerated only by empoyees who have recieved appropriate training. The course is in preparation for NPTC assessment.
