Summary: The course aims to enable a learner to design and build a simple database, to use 'query' and 'sort' tools, run reports and print out data.

Target: The course assumes that the learner has worked in a Windows environment before and sets out to develop existing knowledge.
Entry requirements: The ability to use windows, menus and dialogue boxes, enter text and use the keyboard is assumed. No knowledge of databases software is required.
Outcome: This course prepares the learner for the ECDL Database online test which is undertaken at the ITeC. Progression could be through 6 additional ECDL subjects which could ultimately lead to the full European Computer Driving Licence qualification.
Content: Open and use a database application
Design a simple database
Create simple tables and forms
Retrieve information and create reports

Learners start and complete the course in their own time. Tutor supported ITeC workbooks and/or learndirect online materials are available depending on the chosen method of learning.
Cost: Contact course provider for details. Where assessment, exam or testing fees are not included in a learning package the following will apply - £75 + vat per assessment
