- This course is designed to provide a general introduction to spreadsheets. You will gain confidence in the use of everyday tasks, including creating spreadsheets, editing, printing and working with formulae. New features are gradually introduced, enabling you to use the full power and flexibility of the package.
This is an intensive tutor led course with emphasis on hands-on practical exercises. You will need to have keyboard and mouse skills together with an understanding of Windows.

MODULE 1- Creating and saving a workbook
- Entering data and working in the formula bar
- Saving and closing a workbook
- Open and rename an existing workbook
MODULE 2- Working with functions and formulae
- Entering numbers and formulae
- Quickly create a series of dates using the Fill Handle
- Using Auto Sum to Calculate
- Using references and functions
- Paste function working with statistical functions
- Absolute and Relative cell addresses
MODULE 3- Printing selected parts of a sheet
- Printing the whole sheet
- Margins and other print options
- Selecting portrait or landscape and fit-to-page
- Working with gridlines and print titles
MODULE 4- Formatting
- Changing column width and row height
- Using the undo and repeat command
- Making non adjacent cell selections
- Hide/unhide columns and rows
- Format numbers for currency and dates
- Format a workbook using one of Excels built in templates
- Add borders and shading to cells
MODULE 5- Create charts using the ChartWizard
- Modify, add and delete chart data
- Change chart types to make sure the chart fits your data
MODULE 6- Managing workbooks
- Copy and move sheets to make your workbooks more manageable
- Document your work with cell notes and text boxes
- Find files quickly by searching for summary information in the properties dialog box
