- On completion of the course each operator will be given a verbal assessment of their performance by the instructor and a written assessment will be given to the company covering the operators attitude, operational, ability, work practice and general performance.
- Content
- Programme: Theory Reminder of how legislation affects the operator and company. Accidents - Local and national trends - Relevant company examples - Causes - Consequences Company/ Onsite safety. Appropriate charts and films are used o illustrte essential points. Practical: Ability and Skills Assessments These assessments are conducted in an informal manner by using original and interesting work based driving tasks. The empasis is placed on the operator's ability and everyday work practices rather than on formal driving techniques. This will allow the instructor to assess the operator's true approach to fork lift operations. Review of operator's performance Group discussion on operational techniques and the effect they have on maintaining safe work practices. As this is not a test the operator will be able to concentrate on improving their basic work skills which in turn will help to maintain a safer workplace. The course is not aimed as an alternative to accredited training programmes but as an additional way of promoting safer more responsible operators in an original and interesting way.
