Dance and Drama Awards
Dance and Drama Awards are scholarships funded by the LSC to help towards fees for approved courses and living costs
Teaching and healthcare
If you want to train as a teacher you can get an award or training salary and might qualify for a training incentive depending on the subject you want to teach. NHS bursaries can cover costs like living costs, learning materials and expenses; your tuition fees would be paid and bursaries can be for a set amount or means tested (depending on your financial circumstances
Postgraduate study:
Teacher training, social work, healthcare If you're enrolled on a postgraduate route to QTS (Qualified teacher status) you may be eligible to receive a training bursary ranging from £6,000 to £9,000, depending on the subject you are training to teach. From September 2006, students in England will also be eligible for a non-means tested grant of £1,200 and be able to apply for an additional means-tested grant of £1,500
Social work
If your first degree is not related to social work and you would like to retrain, you can apply for a two- year postgraduate diploma or three-year Master of Science (MSc) in social work. Both of these qualifications allow you to work as a social worker. You can get funding through the General Social Care Council.
Careers in Healthcare
If you are training to work in social work, medicine or certain areas of healthcare, you may be entitled to a bursary from the General Social Care Council or the NHS
