Research

We have used our resources and skills to undertake a number of research projects.
  • We supply Suffolk IAG with a quarterly Labour Market Report. .
  • Survey into Skills for Life provision in the Haven Gateway
  • Survey into current and future demands for learning, accessibility to employment opportunities and transport in the Shotley Peninsula
  • We have produced a number of skills matrices. These include:
  • Assisting Haven Gateway by undertaking the research to provide a 'training finder' for the Maritime and Logistics Skills Centre.
  • A spreadsheet on training provision for the Construction Sector, again for the Haven Gateway Partnership

  • A spreadsheet of training provision in Suffolk and Essex for the DIDO 1 and DIDO 2 projects - aimed at assisting women into non-traditional employment
  • We are currently undertaking a project with Suffolk ACRE, Skills for Tomorrow. The project aims to improve the skill levels and employability of young people who are in work but not in training. The objective is to research the barriers and reasons why these young people do not take up learning opportunities and to develop innovative ways of engaging them. Our role is to carry out research, using interviews and focus groups, offer information advice and guidance and engage with employers in the relevant sectors.
What you can expect from us:
  • A rigorous, comprehensive and consistent system that ensures that course records are current and that all providers are contacted every six months or annually where more appropriate
  • Experienced and qualified staff with wide experience in the provision of training information and advice for adults and close links with other Information, Advice & Guidance services in Suffolk
  • All staff have achieved NVQ qualifications in Advice and Guidance
  • Customer feedback facility to continuously improve the service
